A masked mob of around 30 left four male youths with horror injuries after a sickening attack in a Scots town.

The rampaging gang of around 20-30 males carried out a violent ambush which left four victims in hospital for treatment to serious wounds.

The four young men were rushed to Victoria Hospital after the terrifying attack in Kinghorn, Fife. The victims were walking in the area of Pettycur Road, near to Kinghorn Beach on the evening of Thursday, April 10 around 8.20pm where they were pounced on and attacked by the large group of youths.

The yobs were aged between 15-17 years old and many were wearing masks to cover up their faces.

Cops have launched an appeal to trace the violent gang who officers say "outnumbered" the victims.

Detectives say the attack could have had "tragic consequences" as they vowed to hunt down the group. They have asked parents to come forward in their bid to find those responsible.

The four victims have since been released from hospital but police say they will require follow up medical treatment.

A full statement from Police Scotland said: "Detectives in Fife are appealing for witnesses after four young males were seriously assaulted in the Kinghorn area.


"Around 8.20pm on Thursday, 10 April, 2025 the victims were walking in the area of Pettycur Road, Kinghorn when they were approached and attacked by a large group of youths. The victims were taken to the Victoria Hospital for treatment after sustaining serious injuries. They have since been released but will require follow up medical treatment.

"The offending group consisted of 20-30 males aged between 15-17 years old and many were wearing masks.


Detective Inspector Samantha Davidson from Glenrothes CID said: "Four young males sustained serious injuries as a result of an unprovoked attack, they were outnumbered and were met with a level of violence that could have had tragic consequences.

"Kirkcaldy CID are following positive lines of enquiries and those responsible will be identified.

"Even if you have not personally assaulted someone, through your presence and encouragement alone, you may have enabled these serious incidents to have taken place and could find yourself criminally responsible.


"I wish to appeal to the parents of the young people involved. Do you know what your children were doing on April 10? Were they involved in this incident?

"Detectives are now appealing for anyone that may has seen this incident. We are also seeking for anyone with dashcam or private CCTV that may have captured the group involved. If you have anything that may be useful to the investigation, please contact us.

“We are increasing patrols in the surrounding areas and anyone with concerns should speak with officers”.
